Drezzee by Cherrie G. Cariaga: Weddings Attires, Bridal Gowns in Metro Manila
Drezzee is a 20-year old fashion label, worn by thousands of women who troop to Drezzee shops found in Makati, Cinderella, Landmark and Harrison Plaza.
The Drezzee heritage started as a ready to wear label in 1985. 10 years later, diversification began into the design and creation of bridal gowns and wedding entourage gowns and dresses.
Long before the "budoir look" dominated the Paris and Milan forecast shows, Drezzee has been doing just that : bustierres, bra tops, second skin suits, evening gowns and cocktails, jackets and blouses. Women often ask themselves where to get appropriate dresses for different occasions like a wedding, an after office cocktail party, or a night out in a disco, a club or a ballroom. This situation is common to both women professionals and homemakers. Drezzee offers an excellent solution with its ready to wear gowns and dresses that comes in different varieties and designs to fit the most important occasions. Drezzee also creates collections based on holidays and seasons, gowns and dresses perfect for Christmas, Valentines, Prom nights, etc.
With the Drezzee heritage comes elegance and beauty that not only reflects but amplifies the qualities of a Woman.
Cherrie Gonzalez Cariaga, the woman behind Drezzee, was a virtual unknown when she first joined the world of fashion. She had no formal training in fashion designing but her exposure to the fashion industry polished her knowledge in designing and other rudiments of dress creation. Cherie admits that the Drezzee brand is not an overnight success story, but the product of 20 years of hard work, planning, and most of all - faith. Hers is practically a 24-hour job. A meticulous person like most Drezzee clients, Cherrie is involved in all stages of production - from the design phase to the actual creation process. She admits being influenced by fashion gurus such as Elie Saab. Cherrie and her team of designers have established an image for which Drezzee is well known. "We don't make simple clothes. Details, textures, trimmings, are always present in our clothes."
However 5 year before she put up Drezzee, Cherrie was just another statistic in the employment force of a financing company. She is a certified public accountant but never practiced it. Instead, she became a money market trader, a job she enjoyed very much but had to give up to fulfill her dream of putting up a big fashion house. The strong factor which pushed her to go ahead with their plan was her love for fashion. Cherrie wanted to dress celebrities and women in general. She believes that beauty is so important to Filipinos. Filipino women always make an effort to look their best and they really appreciate nice clothes and nice things in general. She feels a sense of fulfillment when people stop by and say "your dress made me feel so special," or "thank you for make me feel and treating me like a princess on my wedding day." Knowing that Drezzee clients are satisfied and happy makes her feel great, as she believes in making a difference in their lives by making sure that occasions become real special moments.

Today, Cherrie boasts of 50 regular workers from pattern makers to beaders and embroiderers, including two full time in-house designers. Her goal for the next two years is to expand her market abroad where clients love her fine and intricate but affordable and trendy collection. Her goal is anchored on her desire to improve the Drezzee process and use new technology and reinforce her competitive edge in the foreign market. That way, "we can hire more people. I believe in the Filipino craftsmanship and I think Filipinos deserve credit."
